About me

I am a political scientist and the GenForward Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Chicago, affiliated with the Departments of Political Science and Race, Diaspora, and Indigeneity. I received my Ph.D. in political science from Northwestern University in 2023. My research explores how the politics of law and public policy shape racial inequality and other social inequalities in the United States. This includes a range of projects on civil rights, urban politics, social welfare, immigration, and democratic accountability. You can find my CV and information about my researchteaching, service, and writing on this website.

My research has been published in Studies in American Political Development, Urban Affairs Review, Political Research Quarterly, and the Journal of Race, Ethnicity, and Politics.

I have previously been a Doctoral Fellow at the American Bar Foundation and an APSA Public Scholar. At Northwestern, I was affiliated with the Chicago Democracy Project, the Center for Civic Engagement, Chicago Field Studies, the Institute for Policy Research, and Comparative Historical Social Sciences.
